Export Control and Sanctions

Export Control and Sanctions

Obligation for affiliates at Aalborg University
Everyone affiliated with Aalborg University is obligated to comply with the legislation on export control and sanctions. This includes any university employee regardless of employment group (both scientific and administrative staff), any student enrolled in a study at the university, and any guest researcher or guest student. Nationality or country of origin is irrelevant for the aforementioned obligation to comply with the legislation.
Export Control and Sanctions at Aalborg University
When AAU collaborates internationally, there are a number of export restrictions and sanctions that we must comply with. In most cases, the relevant legislation is national or issued by EU institutions. When relevant, it is also necessary to comply with export control and sanctions issued by the USA.
The Contract Unit supports the university's faculties and departments in ensuring that AAU complies with these rules. This is done, among other things, by conducting export risk assessments when AAU enters into agreements on international collaboration in selected research areas.
